On behalf of the Allied Telesis Group, I would like to extend my sincere wishes for a Happy New Year to all of you. I wish to express my sincere gratitude for your great support of us last year.
The new normal lifestyle that has rapidly become common to control COVID-19 infections has greatly changed the way we all work. Telework and remote conferencing have spread and permeated all over the world, and the introduction of digital transformation (DX) will continue to progress at speed. The existence and nature of offices will be different from what they have been.
In this new era, when the world is connected via networks, cyber risks are ever present. Last year, the largest oil pipeline in the United States was cyber attacked, resulting in the suspension of its operations. This incident sent shockwaves around the world. In Japan, the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games website was also attacked. Cyber crimes targeting major companies, such as unauthorized access and ransomware, have occurred frequently and the damages from such attacks caused various problems–serious problems in some cases. As you can see, the threat of cyber attack is increasing.
While watertight security measures are essential to enjoy the convenience of digitalization, I often hear the voices of business leaders and people in charge of information systems wondering what measures to take, to what extent. How to control the increasing cost and huge amount of cumbersome work for cyber security is a very important management issue.
The Allied Telesis group utilizes the latest network technologies, combined with extensive experience and expertise cultivated over many years, to provide straightforward network infrastructure, offer excellent network management systems, and help customers reduce total costs. Further, we provide a wide range of cyber security solutions and services, from the prevention of cyber incidents to recovery from them, to deliver safe communication environments to customers.
We will continue to strive to develop technologies that provide optimal solutions and services and help create a rich digital society. As responsible members of society, we will help build a sustainable society by engaging in corporate activities to fulfill our social responsibilities and the creation of environmentally friendly products, while ensuring the transparency of our supply chain.
